Kari Turns One
It is difficult to grasp time. But if we talk about the time that flies, we are certainly not kidding. It feels like yesterday when I photographed little Kari as a newborn. I honestly couldn’t believe it when her mom called me to book her first birthday cake smash. It was too soon! It just didn’t feel right.
But Kari is one all-right. Already walking quite strong, she is a magical little creature that will soon be able to chase her big sister Mia around the house.
Here are Kari’s Cake Smash photos and smash, she did.

Namibian Bushveld Family Session
Since my studio is a bit small for family portraits, I prefer to take the whole family out into the bush for a proper family shoot. And this was a proper shoot since the grandparents, uncle and aunt were all visiting for Kari’s first birthday.
The sun was quite high when we started out, so I had to adjust to the harsh Namibian light. Kari, of course, fell asleep straight after her cake smash and boy, did we struggle to wake her up?! I wish I could still sleep like that! But isn’t a sleeping baby just one of the most adorable things on this planet?
When we finally managed to get her to keep her eyes open for long enough to take a photo, the light was also a lot better and we had a fantastic family photo shoot.
