Four Sessions and counting…
Hierdie gedeelte is altyd vir my die moeilikste. Ek moet iets skryf waarvan Google sal hou, iets uit die hart en iets “true to the day”. Alles in een. Hoe doen mens dit?
But let’s see. Elsie, correct me if I’m wrong, but I think this was our fourth session? Two birthdays and two family sessions. First one here at the coast on the beach & dunes. The last time I photographed this beautiful boy-family that is so similar to my own was just after covid and I think a little boy turned two.
Sesssions with littles, are always unpredictable. They are either in the mood or not. There is no in-between. Sometimes bribery works. Sometimes it backfires. Horribly so. In the end we are all moms desperately trying to hold all the ropes together, smiling through our teeth, hoping for one good photo.
For this beach & dunes session we had the grey mist hanging, not lifting as I had hoped. One boy who enjoyed every moment in front of the lens. And one who really wanted to go home. But in the end, patience won and because we did what these boys love to do, I got the shots. Mom will be be happy, the wall will have new canvases and grandma and grandpa is sorted with photo gifts for the next two years.
